| Removal of roundabout and reduction of junctions for traffic calming. Hackney Borough Council This is an ongoing term contract that we are undertaking for McNicholas PLC. McNicholas PLC send drawings of the scheme with a proposed start date, BSC then agree a date and make preparations. One week prior to start a site meeting is arranged between ourselves the contractor and client the job is estimated to take six weeks. The contracts manager places orders with builder’s merchants for materials to be delivered to site on start date. All traffic management is set up then work begins, the site supervisor is on site and runs through the job with the foreman. All four junctions need to be altered and a concrete mini roundabout to be taken out. All excavation work is carried out and our own grab vehicle takes excavated surplus away to a licensed tip or a recycling depot. Safety and quality checks are made daily. All junctions are being changed as part of a traffic-calming project. The junctions at present are in tarmac asphalt and will be changed to slab footways and all kerbs will be replaced with conservation kerbs. New drainage is put in place where necessary, new signs and bollards are put in place. The existing concrete mini roundabout is excavated last then permanently reinstated in tarmac. White and yellow lines are done at end of job. A final site meeting with contractor, client and BSC is carried out on job completion. To check satisfaction. Joint measure is carried out and invoice prepared and sent for payment. |
